Privacy policy

The short version
- You don’t need an account, and we never ask for your email.
- If you tick “Save our result”, we save the names or nicknames you typed, the genders you picked, and your scores, under a random link.
- If you don’t tick it, nothing is saved. Your result stays on your screen.
- Anyone with your result link can see that result, so only share it with people you’re happy to show.
- You can delete a saved result at any time with your delete link.
Who we are
TheLoversCheckIn (theloverscheckin.love) is run by [legal entity name, ABN]. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and the Information Privacy Principles in the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
When you save a result, we collect:
- the names or nicknames you typed (or “Person 1” and “Person 2”)
- the genders you picked, if you picked any
- your 8 scores and the gaps worked out from them
- the date, and the country you visited from (worked out from your connection, not stored as an IP address)
We don’t collect your email, phone number, exact location or IP address. Please don’t type full names or anything else that identifies someone. A nickname works just as well.
Your device also stores your light or dark mode choice. This stays in your browser and is never sent to us.
Why we collect it
- To show your result on its own link so you can share it.
- To count how many people use the checker and what results look like overall. We only use this in combined, anonymous totals.
Where it’s kept
Saved results are stored with Cloudflare, our hosting provider. Cloudflare may process data on servers outside Australia and New Zealand. We only use Cloudflare to run the site.
How long we keep it
Until you delete it, or 24 months after you saved it, whichever comes first.
Deleting your result
When you save a result, you get a private delete link. Open it and tap “Delete this result”. It’s removed straight away. If you’ve lost the link, email us your result link and we’ll delete it.
Analytics
We don’t use analytics tools or tracking cookies. We only count saved results, in combined totals.
Advertising
We plan to show ads in future. When we do, we’ll update this policy first to explain which ad partners we use and what they collect.

Email privacy@theloverscheckin.love. We’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), or in New Zealand, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top.
